Eaglehurst House

Eaglehurst is a home and not a house. A home is built with children in mind and centre on positive outcomes

Eaglehurst was our first home which was completely renovated and fully restored to a high specification in 2019. Our aim was to provide a high quality home which provides a homely environment for our young people.

The Young People are welcome to choose the décor of one ‘feature’ wall within their bedrooms and will be supported to personalise their space.

The home and its staff offer support to Young People with social; emotional; communication; and, behavioural issues. There are a wide range of care packages to support these and all of these are tailored to fit the Young Person’s individual needs.

The home is staffed 24-hours a day, with a combination of team leaders, senior youth workers, and youth workers

In 2019, the home was completely renovated with new kitchen, bathrooms and tastefully decorated throughout with design input from Eaglehurst staff.

On the ground floor:

There is a main lounge is used to relax whilst watch TV; playing Xbox/PlayStation and board games; and, a dining table for meals and homework.Main Lounge

Opposite the main lounge is our chill-out lounge for quiet time, to watch a different programme and is accessible should there be an age gap between Young Person’s; or, a wish to do a different activity. The chill-out lounge is again equipped with a TV, some board games and quiet space to complete homework.

Sky TV will be available in the both Lounges.

The kitchen has been newly fitted and contains a large cooker, with an Inductive Hob to reduce the risk of a burn to young hands, with a powerful extraction hob; an American style fridge-freezer with fresh chilled water and an ice dispenser; Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer; and a Dishwasher.

There is a large fixed table, accommodating 8-low-backed stools, as we envisage the kitchen as the heart of the home. There is also a large screen TV for the Young People to be entertained.

On the ground floor, there is one ground floor bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom.

Also, the ground floor includes staff sleeping facility and an Office for administrative functions and meetings.

On the first floor:

There are four Young People’s bedrooms on the first floor which, together with the ground floor bedroom, provides 5-bedrooms, each with their own private en-suite bathroom, equipped with new baths and overhead showers; a wash hand basin; and toilet.

We have created a Sensory Room which has been professionally designed with help from our professional Therapists. The Sensory Room has been designed to develop a Young Person’s senses, through special lighting, music, and objects. Sensory Rooms are very effective for those with limited communication skills.
